Everyone was looking forward to it, and for some reason or other, i thought the entire affair of having 15 days of celebration is totally absurd...Well, the malays celebrated for two days during Raya, while the indians only have one day...Christians, every day is a day to be celebrated and cheer upon, since we've already gotten the joy in us, we definitely dun need special occasion to get all spirited up...
So, after the last paper on Tue, everyone was frantically excited (although i did a bad midterm...)...We gathered and proceeded to Bistro 1957, our favourite hangouts at Mont'Kiara...the occasion was to celebrate Chloe's birthday, or rather, her lunar Birthday, which happen to fall on the last day of CNY...
We dined, we drank and chit-chatted...taking time off from our busy schedule, putting away thoughts of thesis and FYP, and had a very memorable rendezvous...I ordered my fave Fettucine Carbonara and Tom Collins while the others contributed their Pizzas and Pasta and Chicken fillet as my side dishes...
it was a hearty meal, we were satisfied with it...when it comes to eating the birthday cake, everyone has room for it, as denise had smartly bought a miniature one...after the meal, we adjourned to Breakers for beers and Fusball and Pool...I challenged the guys for pool where loser pays for the game...lost few rounds and won one round...haha...obviously luck wasnt on my side...
The getaway was necessary, and most of us were amenable at the suggestion of hanging out, despite heavy workload...I know the workload concerns less of me than to the rest, so i thought they were pretty sporting and willing to spend hours out playing and having fun...
Somehow, i dun understand why they still feel pretty stressout over the project and exams....didnt they all already have a job secure for them? some are going to Sony, some to Motorola, some to Pentamaster, Tekmark, Finistar....Alrite, they are perfectionist, they want the best out of everything...First class honours is a must in their cert...well, definitely not me...
I went for Melissa's convocation last week at Nikko Hotel...she graduated from Victoria University, Melbourne...the entire ceremony was grand, with students and faculty master and chancellor alike, all wearing their robe up to perfection...the valedictorian was a bit of a disappointment though...she couldn't speak fluently! What particularly hits me is that everyone's cert is SIMILAR....no one cares if you've gotten a Distinction or Merit or Credit or Whatshit, the cert reads a mere Graduated from Victoria U, in what course, what year....bla bla bla...
Gosh, that's what i would like to see in our digital cert...but i know it's not gonna happen...Malaysians take such great pride in their own achievement that they dwell in it forever....look at every household, and u r bound to encounter what would be an oversized graduation photo, golden-framed certificate at a spotlighted location...slim chance that you will miss seeing it...
It aint matter to me...it doesnt last....it's not forever...
Right now im jz gonna concentrate on SURVIVING till the end of finals, which would be around mid april...I'm feeling fragile...on the verge of giving up...dun feel like seeing anything that relates to engineering anymore....I need to stay put, focus...i know i can do it...i didnt come that far to give up...Never...
